What Is the Puppy Start Right Program?
Our Puppy Program is designed for puppies 9 weeks to 6 months old at the start of their first class. It follows a flexible, open-enrollment model, so you can begin as soon as health requirements are met — no waiting required. Our puppy classes are designed to be repeated, as puppies grow and change quickly. Each week offers new learning opportunities for both puppies and their people.
Program Highlights:
- Open enrollment — start anytime
- Classes meet once per week; twice per week when attendance allows for optimal socialization
- Structured, reward-based training
- Puppies under 12 months attending 10 classes are eligible for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Certificate
What You & Your Puppy Will Learn
Our puppy and teen dog training classes focus on skills that support everyday life while building confidence and connection.
Your puppy will learn to:
- Build attention and engagement, even with distractions
- Develop early recall and leash skills that strengthen over time
- Practice settling and relaxation with other puppies and people present
- Participate in guided interactions supporting healthy social skills and emotional regulation

Puppy start Right FUNdamentals
Preschool & Kindergarten (Combined)
This combined class gives puppies the best start and is suitable for puppies 9 weeks to 6 months. Puppies will:
- Build healthy social skills with people, puppies and new environments
- Gain confidence through structured, positive exposure to sights, sounds, and surfaces
- Respond to their name and early cues, strengthening communication
- Use targeting and pattern games to develop focus and engagement
- Practice cooperative handling for grooming and veterinary care
- Lay foundations for leash walking and recall
- Learn to pause, settle, and regulate excitement
- Develop appropriate play skills and puppy-to-puppy interactions
- Prepare for and take the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Test
Terrific Teens – Control Unleashed® FUNdamentals
Designed for adolescent dogs 7 months to 2 years, this class helps teens navigate their most energetic stage with clarity and confidence. Dogs will:
- Respond confidently to cues, supporting communication and engagement
- Use targeting, stationing, and pattern games to stay grounded and engaged
- Improve leash walking and recall in real-life settingsctions
- Develop self-control around people, dogs, and exciting environments
- Practice on/off switch games to shift between excitement and calm
- Build resilience and recover more easily in stimulating situations
- Channel adolescent energy into focused, productive behaviors
Schedule: Puppies under 6 months meet on Thursdays at 6:00 PM

6 classes – $315
Bundle & Save: Combine Preschool + Terrific Teens for continued support through puppyhood and adolescence – 10 classes for $500, including the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Test.
